We've had birthdays, babies born, weddings attended, and holidays pass. I know most, if not all, of you who read this know a lot of what I'm going to post today, but this is for records sake. Chloe is six, Talisha is five, Cara is three, Little Tyler will be two on Jan 6th. Carrington was born on Sept 8th. Yes, I went into labor on Labor Day. She missed being born on 09-09-09, which would of been pretty cool.
Tyler's little sister, Amanda, got married in Sept to Dan. We were all thrilled, he's a great guy. All of the girls were flower girls. Not so good news was that Tyler's Grandma Turnbow passed away the end of Oct. With heartache and relief for her to no longer suffer from the cancer, we made the trip to Idaho for the funeral.
For Halloween, Chloe was Island Princess, Isha was Snow White, Cara was a cat, Little Tyler a giraffe, and Carrington, aka Tin Tin, was a pea-pod. Thanksgiving was a good time for us. We stayed at our home and Tyler's mom and her latest squeeze joined us for a mostly relaxing day. Tyler experienced our second year of Black Friday. There is a big difference between the madness here and what we had in Idaho last year.
Unfortunately, my camera died, so I've missed out on some of the activities. It was quickly replaced at Christmas along with my phone. The girls announced more than once that this was the best Christmas we've ever had. I must say that I agree with them.
Tyler is beginning to feel abandoned at work. One of the last people that he liked to do things with is following the many before and going to a different store. We hope he enjoys going back home and finds a spot for him to be happy.
I feel much better getting caught up for everyone. Sorry that it's missing pictures. Feel free to get after me if I fall behind again.

Slacking, big time!

So, I said I would do better and as you can see, it hasn't been going well.

I'll do a quick run through of the things that have happened and put up pictures for what I have. For one thing, except for L. T. crying for a bottle, everyone woke up happy and no incidents. Chloe and I headed outside to take her to school and it was really quiet out there too. It had started to snow last night. Because no one else was walking, no dogs were barking, and there were very few cars out, we could hear the snow crunching. It was just one of those peaceful mornings, and a nice change.

Fun For Kids, Not Me.

So I was thinking that I hadn't posted anything for a while and was trying to come up with something to say. Leave it to the kids for, let's call it, motive.

In our basement we have the girls room, the toys, laundry, and so on. Well today, I'm not sure which, but one of them thought they had come up with a great idea. Talisha and this girl I've been watching the last few weeks came upstairs to inform me Cara had gotten into the laundry soap. I had found it sprinkled on the floor before, so I was thinking the same thing happened. I told them I would be down in a few minutes to check. A few minutes later they come back up to tell me they cleaned it, hearing this made me happy for help, but I didn't want them touching it and getting in their eyes or mouth.

At this time Cara walks in with it on her face and I find out she'd eaten some. This makes me start to wonder what happened. When I get to the top of the stairs I see a small amount of detergent on the them. Then it happens. I go around the corner and it's EVERYWHERE! To get an idea how much it was, we have the large box and I opened it yesterday to do laundry, half of it was gone. The only room they missed was the bathroom. Now they are confined to the upstairs, which is just as hard on me as it is them, I can't tell them to go play when they get too noisy. The only good thing about it is my downstairs smells really good, powerful, but good.

Little Tyler's 1st Birthday!

Our Little Man turned one on January 6th! The forboding reminder that you're not ready, but it's coming anyway. Chloe got one from school that she puts stickers on. I keep hoping that time will stop for just a day or two. I started to make one for family and I thought it would turn out cute. It's a little quilted one with buttons to put to ornaments on. Now I'm not so sure I want to finish it..... If you haven't realized, I don't feel like we are even close to being ready for Christmas this year. I never realized how many they do. First you have the school pics, and it's not just one, you have fall ones and the ones they do in the spring. Then you have the fundraisers, which they take donations from parents if you don't want your child to take part, we'll see if it's really true. They have school shirts for your child. And the reason this came up, book fairs. This is just what we've come across so far this year. Who knows what they'll come up with father into the year. You don't have to participate, but if you don't do any of them, you crush you kid everytime. Plus, the older they get, I think the more likely they are to feel bad when their friends all have something to talk about or show off. You're about to see why.

We had another successful Halloween this year. The girls were: Chloe- a cheerleader, Talisha- a Spider Bride, and Cara- a pirate. Little Tyler was a leopard, though he was called many other things. When it came time for trick or treating we only covered two streets. It was enough for the girls, and with candy from two trunk or treats and a carnival, it was enough for me too. Luckily the rain held out for us. While we were out we came across someone on stilts with a scream type mask on. Talisha, our thrill seeker, walked up to him and shook his hand with no problem. Chloe was happy with just being on the same side of the street as him. Cara wouldn't even look at him when we went to him. Later, and across the street, Cara would say boo and growl to "scare him". That night we went to a friends for a BBQ. All in all a good night

Earlier that day we watched Chloe walk in her school parade. Which is weird if you ask me.

Now for Saturday. Tyler had the weekend off and we weren't able to go to Idaho, so we painted the livingroom. I liked the color scheme we had. It just made the room darker and with our set up, it was dark enough. So we made the trim white again and then walls are a minty green. Look we even had a helper. So after all of this, we spent Sunday as a recoup day.

Ponekins!

Well, it seems with the season I might be putting up more posts than normal. I don't know that they will all have a lot in them, but it just happens where there is a lot going on this time of year. With the leaves changing color and cold in the air, the reality of the holiday season starts to set in. The girls get full of anticipation and Tyler and I get to try not to go crazy, as people tend to do in preperation. It's hard to believe that Halloween in only a week away. The good thing about this time of year, it's great for a lot of pictures. The kids and I snuck away and played in the leaves. We came across leaf monsters and leaf angels. I captured some moments to share with you. In August we went to TX for Papaw's birthday and a little fairwell for Adam. He got deployed Sunday for Iraq, so I thought before it got to late I would share some of what we did and a few pics.

For starters we had surprised everyone by telling them we weren't going, which at times was difficult. We were the first of the sibilings to arrive, so we got to surprise everyone as they arrived. Tyler always does things with a bang when he can. We got to spend a lot of time swimming, which the girls loved. We also met Christina, Adam's wife, and the girls love her too. Talisha recently decided that when she grows up she is going to live with her aunt and uncle. It was good to get to see Papaw as well, I think he was happy to have a lot of family there. Rachel and Michael's kids are getting so big! My mom and dad are getting along fine. Lindsey was getting ready to start at a new school, with uniforms, lucky her. Lots of late nights and lots of kids can make for two weeks of fun and interesting things.

Results of playing on the bed!

Well Talisha got the black eye to put previous ones in our family to shame. The girls were on our bed a couple of days ago playing, they weren't even jumping, our bed is broken. No, they were just falling backwards. So, Talisha fell back and right after Cara fell back, just going the opposite way. The end result was a lot of crying and screaming and the eye. Of course it happened as we're getting ready to go to a family thing. We hadn't met several of them yet either. Oh well, one of many to come right?

Chloe's First Day of School

It's official, Tyler and I's oldest headed off for her first day of school today. But, Little Tyler got his first tooth! It completely broke through on Sunday. He must have more coming though. Even though this one came in, he's still in a lot of pain. He is much more vocal about it than the girls were. I don't forget the one that came in though. I get painful reminders often. It's a toss up on if I want the others to hurry or not.

I finished it!

Well I made my first official quilt. I started it before Little Tyler was born but just finished it a few days ago...... Took me a little while to get it done. For not knowing what I was doing or having any help, I think it turned out alright. I made it pretty much just for playing on the floor, and to give it a little something extra I put ribbons on the edges, L.T. really likes those. If I knew what I was doing there probably would be about 5 or so steps that I could have skipped in making it, and it might not have taken so long to make, but oh well.It looks like it's going to serve it purpose well.

Last one of the year!

Well, we finished up our family's birthdays for the year. Cara is now two and we did her party on Saturday. Tyler's mom and dad were down for the weekend. It was nice to have them here for it. We started out the day with some fun in the sprinkler.

Even Grandma and Grandpa joined in. Not too sure how Little Tyler felt about it, I think as long as it wasn't getting poured on him he was ok.

Then we had the birthday party, or as Cara calls it, dirtday. Brain, Kenna, Nicole, and Peter came again, And Leah was there. Cara picked out what cake she wanted this year. I was surprised when she chose the princess one over Dora. For presents she got and toy horse and wagon, she was given a Dora doll and new shoes, she also got several coloring books. It looked like her favorite part of the day was getting to hug everyone and tell them thank you.

Now we're done for the year! Time to recover before school starts.

Now Isha's B-day!

For Talisha's birthday she wanted to have a My Little Pony cake. So on the 4th we did Chloe and Isha's hair the same way.

We didn't go to the Grand parade, that place is a zoo. The girls got a lot of candy, but the parade itself was short. On the 4th we had dinner with some friends and watched fireworks. We watched to Stadium of Fire, but outside the stadium. Trying to get tickets for this year was all but impossible, or else you would end up taking out a loan to afford it. Miley Cyrus was one of the performers this year.

Saturday we went to Tyler's Aunt and Uncle's house, Tyler had to work so he didn't get to go. I didn't put anything up at first because you wouldn't know that it was cut if you didn't see him all the time. His hair was an inch and a half in some places, it's just really blonde, the reason it's so hard to tell a difference. But I've been asked to put pictures online. So I took some pictures, you can tell if you look close enough. Anyway! Here they are for your viewing pleasure.

Still here.

It's been a while since I've posted, so I thought I would just say that everything is still going here. She chose to have a Hannah Montana theme party. It was the first time that she got to invite her friends to her party. So, we had Trevor and Chris, Tylee, Ashlyn, and Jase, and Madison. Then Tyler's mom, Aunt Dawn, Uncle JD, and Grandma Ross came. Also Matt, Brian, Peter, Kenna, and Nicole. We ended up with quite the turnout. As you can imagine, Chloe got quite a few presents as well. She loved all of them. Last night she realized some of the things that came along with getting older. Before bed she expressed how nervous she is about starting school. Hopefully as it gets closer to time she'll start to feel better about it. But all in all it was a really good day. The kids had a good time making door hangers and playing with the balloons, Tyler and I kept our sanity. Now just two left for the year.

Scissors?

We had our first haircut mishap and survived. Tyler was playing with the girls before he had to leave for work. As he was taunting Isha, in a matter of fact way, she informed him that he "really needs to grow up". For everyone who asks, "Is it hard having more than one kid?". The only time more than one kid is really "hard", is when it or they are not yours. Your own are stressful at times, but you still love them. Other peoples kids, you don't, in fact you don't even have to like those. So watchout when you agree to watch another persons kid. You can handle the out of control screaming for only so long!

Just another day.

Here we are on Saturday. Time to review the Primary lesson for tomorrow..... Today I get to make another attempt at getting my house in some kind of order. I've decided that until it's just Tyler and I again, that's all it will end up being is attempts. There is always some kind of chaos with kids. The most upsetting thing right now, aside from only having one car right now, grrr, is that I think we have a thumb sucker. Little Tyler is starting to pull his pacifier out and put his thumb in. When I see it I pull it out and put the pacifier back in, but there's only so much you can do. If he wants to suck his thimb he's going to.

Coming Home

This weekend we went to Idaho to see Tyler's family up there. It was good to see all of them, most of them hadn't seen Little Tyler yet. The girls had a lot of fun playing with cousins and their grandparents. They had the family dinner on Sunday. We came home Monday. On the way back we stopped in Idaho Falls and saw Grandma and Grandpa Turnbow. G.T. is having a hard time right now with the cancer. It was good to spend time with them. It's really nice to make it home again. We all enjoy getting away for a bit, but I think home is always best. Now I have to get it under control from leaving it with the dogs for 4 days.

So....

This last Saturday we went to the BYU track meet to watch Matt Wierich pole vault. He took first and Brian, who we didn't get to see run, placed second. Anyway, back on topic. Cara has moved for her stage of always have to have her clothes on and them having to be perfect, to only wearing clothes when she goes outside or her pjs when she goes to bed.
Here we are sitting on the bottom row waiting for them to get started. One of the runners walks by with the little track shorts on and Cara leans over and quietly says, "She's naked." After I realized what she was talking about I give her the response of, "Oh, yeah, kind of." I didn't want to encourage anything, but I guess the reaction she received was enough for her. The next person walks by with the shorts on and this time she points and very loudly lets everyone know that he was "naked". She said it about four or five times before I told her to stop. Luckily there weren't a lot of people walking by, but the few that were, of course, thought it was pretty funny.
