Postponed Update

Well again it's been a little while since there's been a new post. In August we went to TX for Papaw's birthday and a little fairwell for Adam. He got deployed Sunday for Iraq, so I thought before it got to late I would share some of what we did and a few pics.

For starters we had surprised everyone by telling them we weren't going, which at times was difficult. We were the first of the sibilings to arrive, so we got to surprise everyone as they arrived. Tyler always does things with a bang when he can. We got to spend a lot of time swimming, which the girls loved. We also met Christina, Adam's wife, and the girls love her too. Talisha recently decided that when she grows up she is going to live with her aunt and uncle. It was good to get to see Papaw as well, I think he was happy to have a lot of family there. Rachel and Michael's kids are getting so big! My mom and dad are getting along fine. Lindsey was getting ready to start at a new school, with uniforms, lucky her. Lots of late nights and lots of kids can make for two weeks of fun and interesting things.

Results of playing on the bed!

Well Talisha got the black eye to put previous ones in our family to shame. The girls were on our bed a couple of days ago playing, they weren't even jumping, our bed is broken. No, they were just falling backwards. So, Talisha fell back and right after Cara fell back, just going the opposite way. The end result was a lot of crying and screaming and the eye. Of course it happened as we're getting ready to go to a family thing. We hadn't met several of them yet either. Oh well, one of many to come right?

Chloe's First Day of School

It's official, Tyler and I's oldest headed off for her first day of school today. She was a little nervous, but she wasn't as much she was before. There are a few girls in her class that go to church with her. Her teacher is Mrs. Willcocks and our neighbor Michelle is the assistant. I think she'll do really well.

A first for Little Tyler.

Well no pictures for this one. But, Little Tyler got his first tooth! It completely broke through on Sunday. He must have more coming though. Even though this one came in, he's still in a lot of pain. He is much more vocal about it than the girls were. I don't forget the one that came in though. I get painful reminders often. It's a toss up on if I want the others to hurry or not.

I finished it!

Well I made my first official quilt. I started it before Little Tyler was born but just finished it a few days ago...... Took me a little while to get it done. For not knowing what I was doing or having any help, I think it turned out alright. I made it pretty much just for playing on the floor, and to give it a little something extra I put ribbons on the edges, L.T. really likes those. If I knew what I was doing there probably would be about 5 or so steps that I could have skipped in making it, and it might not have taken so long to make, but oh well.It looks like it's going to serve it purpose well.

Last one of the year!

Well, we finished up our family's birthdays for the year. Cara is now two and we did her party on Saturday. Tyler's mom and dad were down for the weekend. It was nice to have them here for it. We started out the day with some fun in the sprinkler.

Even Grandma and Grandpa joined in. Not too sure how Little Tyler felt about it, I think as long as it wasn't getting poured on him he was ok.

Then we had the birthday party, or as Cara calls it, dirtday. Brain, Kenna, Nicole, and Peter came again, And Leah was there. Cara picked out what cake she wanted this year. I was surprised when she chose the princess one over Dora. For presents she got and toy horse and wagon, she was given a Dora doll and new shoes, she also got several coloring books. It looked like her favorite part of the day was getting to hug everyone and tell them thank you.

Now we're done for the year! Time to recover before school starts.
