They keep 'em coming.

So I was thinking about the companies and programs the schools bring in. I never realized how many they do. First you have the school pics, and it's not just one, you have fall ones and the ones they do in the spring. Then you have the fundraisers, which they take donations from parents if you don't want your child to take part, we'll see if it's really true. They have school shirts for your child. And the reason this came up, book fairs. This is just what we've come across so far this year. Who knows what they'll come up with father into the year. You don't have to participate, but if you don't do any of them, you crush you kid everytime. Plus, the older they get, I think the more likely they are to feel bad when their friends all have something to talk about or show off. Who ever said that public school was free?

Wow that is even more than they did when we were in school.

So far just this year, my kids have had pics, 3 fundraisers (maybe it is 4...), school jackets (cause of the uniform thing), yearbooks, and a movie night that was going to cost, but ended up being free. It doesn't get better, trust me. Get used to telling the kiddies no now. It'll make it easier in the long run. I hate fundraisers, we never do them. But, yeah, it definitely gets worse and it seems that every year they add something new. It's pretty ridiculous. Oh, yeah, there's also a school store (sells erasers, pencils, paper, etc.), Santa's Secret Shop and the book store all before the end of the year. Yippee!!!
