Counting down the days......

I have decided that I do not like the Christmas calendars..... The forboding reminder that you're not ready, but it's coming anyway. Chloe got one from school that she puts stickers on. I keep hoping that time will stop for just a day or two. I started to make one for family and I thought it would turn out cute. It's a little quilted one with buttons to put to ornaments on. Now I'm not so sure I want to finish it..... If you haven't realized, I don't feel like we are even close to being ready for Christmas this year. Yet, here it is less than a week away.

We've gone some parties this year where the girls have gotten to sit on Santa's lap, luckily no tears this time.

Little Tyler didn't cry either.

Apparently there was fuzz on the lens all night too.

Our Beautiful Tree!

Tyler and I have officially had our first real christmas tree! We were getting ready to start putting up our decorations and a last minute decision came around to get it. Our fake tree is pretty, but nothing compares to the real thing. Our house, or atleast the livingroom, smells so good all the time now! So far no issues with it and Little Tyler yet. Well worth the needles I have to clean up all the time.

Thanksgiving '08

Here I find myself behind again.

For Thanksgiving we went to Idaho and spent the holiday with Tyler's dad and stepmom. We had planned on just staying here, but Tyler was lucky enough to get the day before off. Like always, the girls loved to see their grandparents. It was good to see some of the family too. Of course there are pics to share.

Lots of fun with Grandma and Grandpa.

It's a little hard to see, but the mohawk twins.

They keep 'em coming.

So I was thinking about the companies and programs the schools bring in. I never realized how many they do. First you have the school pics, and it's not just one, you have fall ones and the ones they do in the spring. Then you have the fundraisers, which they take donations from parents if you don't want your child to take part, we'll see if it's really true. They have school shirts for your child. And the reason this came up, book fairs. This is just what we've come across so far this year. Who knows what they'll come up with father into the year. You don't have to participate, but if you don't do any of them, you crush you kid everytime. Plus, the older they get, I think the more likely they are to feel bad when their friends all have something to talk about or show off. Who ever said that public school was free?

Enough Tricks, Here's a Treat for Everyone.

I know I haven't put up the Halloween pics yet. You're about to see why.

We had another successful Halloween this year. The girls were: Chloe- a cheerleader, Talisha- a Spider Bride, and Cara- a pirate. Little Tyler was a leopard, though he was called many other things. When it came time for trick or treating we only covered two streets. It was enough for the girls, and with candy from two trunk or treats and a carnival, it was enough for me too. Luckily the rain held out for us. While we were out we came across someone on stilts with a scream type mask on. Talisha, our thrill seeker, walked up to him and shook his hand with no problem. Chloe was happy with just being on the same side of the street as him. Cara wouldn't even look at him when we went to him. Later, and across the street, Cara would say boo and growl to "scare him". That night we went to a friends for a BBQ. All in all a good night

Earlier that day we watched Chloe walk in her school parade. She had fun. But it didn't sound like they did much else except watch a movie. Which is weird if you ask me.

Now for Saturday. Tyler had the weekend off and we weren't able to go to Idaho, so we painted the livingroom. I liked the color scheme we had. It just made the room darker and with our set up, it was dark enough. So we made the trim white again and then walls are a minty green. Look we even had a helper. So after all of this, we spent Sunday as a recoup day.

Ponekins!

Well, it seems with the season I might be putting up more posts than normal. I don't know that they will all have a lot in them, but it just happens where there is a lot going on this time of year. This Halloween we cheated the system with our pumpkins, or ponekins, as the girls call them. They are just as proud of these as any that we've carved thus far and that's what matters.

The order is L to R: Cara, Isha, and Chloe's

Oh, The Falling Leaves!

Well, fall has moved on the state of Utah. With the leaves changing color and cold in the air, the reality of the holiday season starts to set in. The girls get full of anticipation and Tyler and I get to try not to go crazy, as people tend to do in preperation. It's hard to believe that Halloween in only a week away. The good thing about this time of year, it's great for a lot of pictures. The kids and I snuck away and played in the leaves. We came across leaf monsters and leaf angels. I captured some moments to share with you. You can even see Little Tyler's mohawk.

Postponed Update

Well again it's been a little while since there's been a new post. In August we went to TX for Papaw's birthday and a little fairwell for Adam. He got deployed Sunday for Iraq, so I thought before it got to late I would share some of what we did and a few pics.

For starters we had surprised everyone by telling them we weren't going, which at times was difficult. We were the first of the sibilings to arrive, so we got to surprise everyone as they arrived. Tyler always does things with a bang when he can. We got to spend a lot of time swimming, which the girls loved. We also met Christina, Adam's wife, and the girls love her too. Talisha recently decided that when she grows up she is going to live with her aunt and uncle. It was good to get to see Papaw as well, I think he was happy to have a lot of family there. Rachel and Michael's kids are getting so big! My mom and dad are getting along fine. Lindsey was getting ready to start at a new school, with uniforms, lucky her. Lots of late nights and lots of kids can make for two weeks of fun and interesting things.

Results of playing on the bed!

Well Talisha got the black eye to put previous ones in our family to shame. The girls were on our bed a couple of days ago playing, they weren't even jumping, our bed is broken. No, they were just falling backwards. So, Talisha fell back and right after Cara fell back, just going the opposite way. The end result was a lot of crying and screaming and the eye. Of course it happened as we're getting ready to go to a family thing. We hadn't met several of them yet either. Oh well, one of many to come right?

Chloe's First Day of School

It's official, Tyler and I's oldest headed off for her first day of school today. She was a little nervous, but she wasn't as much she was before. There are a few girls in her class that go to church with her. Her teacher is Mrs. Willcocks and our neighbor Michelle is the assistant. I think she'll do really well.
